- A group of us are planning a reunion for any pupils, boys and girls, who started at Roan in 1965. Alistair Mitchell has booked the clubhouse at Kidbrooke for Saturday 14th May, 2016. If you would like to attend this event then please email me for further information.

- Anyone out there from '68 - '74? I remember Bill Garstang did the interviews for potential candidates but retired, handing over to the remarkable Dr A J Taylor (The Doc). Fondest memories of the Late Alfie Knott - best teacher the School ever had - and that's saying something. I'm now President of Brockleians Rugby Club, just round the corner from our old playing fields. I'm to be found there most Saturdays - pop in and I'll buy you pint or three!

- Hi All
Alf Knott Memorial Christmas Nosh (AKORN)
I propose that we meet up for our annual reunion lunch on Monday, December 14 at Café Rouge in Greenwich.
Please let me know if you can make it.
I’ll book a table as soon as I have an idea of the numbers. As usual I’ll be asking you to choose what you want to eat from the attached menu and asking for £5 deposit to be sent to me.
Please pass this on to any Old Roans you know and let me know if you are coming as soon as possible.
All best wishes
John

- OK Brian Goddard I did spot you in the pictures (https://www.photobox.co.uk/my/album?album_id=2296974175) but couldn't name-check all - not enough hours. They have just given me another few minutes of joy though. Pleased to say that the new school building in Vanburgh Park is one that I think we would all be proud of. A fantastic Opening Day. Hope to see many at the Reunion on the 16th.

- I attended Roan in 1969/70 as a first former visiting from California. Visited Greenwich at the time the school was being converted to apartments and cried the entire day. I also remember Ms. Vincent. We thought she was a bit nutty but a great teacher. Ms. Barber, Ms. Gatwick (Scatty Gatty) lots of great memories. I would love to track down my bestie Julie Secker if anyone knows where she is. Current name is Ann Gray.

- Slightly disappointed that John Dennis didn't recognise me in the Prefects' football team or wearing a strange hat and someone else's mac in the Prefects' Room near the end of the collection. Mind you, I was somewhat more handsome then. By the way, I caught up with Monty Smith and Bernie Hampton in Leicester recently. How do they still do it? Real Old Roans that the OR A should be really proud of.

- I have been meaning to do this for ages. Started in 1975 with Mr Hoare the French teacher - he gave me the name of Franciois! I was born in France so it sort of worked. I actually had a bad time and left in 1978 but kept in touch with a few people for a while - Simon Mills, Jimmy Cameron, Simon Cuffe to name a few. They were certainly the best times of a lifetime. I am now based in Bournemouth.

- My brother told me about this site so I thought I would say hello to many friends from the past. After leaving the Roan in 1963 I went to Imperial College and then went to work in the Midlands. Started at the BSA, then SU Carburretors and from 1979 til retirement I worked for Land Rover. During this time I have not met any former pupils. One of the last times I spoke to Terry Barry was when we were running in the annual cross country race in Greenwich Park - we finished 13th and 14th from memory.

- I just wanted to point out that I bumped into Arthur Smith a few weeks back as I was exiting Waitrose in Balham. I would like to flag up my admiration for Arthur and his considerable gifts as a comedian. I was fortunate enough to attend a gig he performed down at the Club about 4 years ago and had one of the best nights for years. If you read this Arthur - good on you mate - you are a star!

- Retired to Canada - Revelstoke, British Columbia in 2005 after 33 years as a teacher and Headteacher. Really enjoying life here but I do visit the UK a couple of times a year to see our 5 granddaughters! Best wishes to anyone who remembers me - 1963-1970 was a great time to be at the Roan school!
